This Christmas season is the perfect time to venture out into London’s chilly weather and try something new. Whether you’re still going through the rigmarole of awkward and downright uncomfortable dates (we’ve all be there right?) or you’ve got that special someone to rug up on the couch with then why not see what London has to offer.  Now this certainly won’t save you from being catfished but I promise you it will score you some major brownie points with just a few unusual but impressive date ideas to try out.

The Day-Date followed by a Romantic Sunset

Start your day off by strolling hand in hand through the markets of Camden. Showing off your romantic side by sharing a bite to eat from one of the many foods stalls on offer. Be sure to try out the halloumi fries from Oli Baba’s and the Posh Spice from The Mac Factory.

Make your way around the array of retro and quirky shops and make sure to have a look around CyberDog. After you and your date are all shopped out grab a delicious donut and hot chocolate from Crosstown Donuts and take a walk up to Primrose Hill where you can cuddle up and watch the sunset over a view of the entire city.

Evening Date with a Little Liquid Courage

Take a trip to Old Spitalfields Markets to hit the night off with dinner and drinks. With a large range of food stalls and restaurants you’re sure to find something you both will love. A must try is the Shengjianbao pork and leek dumplings from Dumpling Shack and grab yourself a beer or cider from Mother Kelly’s. If you’ve got a sweet tooth and need a dessert perfect for a winters night, try the Stay Golden from Happy Endings dessert bar. Once your belly is full and you’re ready to unleash your competitive side head over to The Junk Yard Golf Club for a round or 2 of mini golf.

Make things fun by putting a wager on the winner buys drinks and try some of their great cocktails like Porn in the U.S.A or Hotline Ting. Don’t forget to grab yourself matching golf visors too! Once you’ve wowed your date with your impressive golfing skills and are ready to continue drinking head over to Apples and Pears for a “The Wrong Trousers” and some live music to finish the night.

If you really want to blow your date away why not take them on a must-do-trip to Winter Wonderland to start the Christmas cheer. Begin by visiting the Magical Ice Kingdom and admiring the incredible sculptures on display and race down the ice slide. Stroll through the Christmas stalls before the big adrenaline rush on some of the rides whether you’re a thrill seeker or a dodgem car fanatic.

Next stop, grab a bite to eat and make your way over to the ice rink where you can skate hand in hand under the fairy lights at night. To finish the evening off take a ride of the Giant Wheel or maybe a hot chocolate and win your date a prize on one of the games.

This festive season forget about your standard dinner date and take advantage of all that London has to offer. Whether it be day or night there’s plenty to do and see on your date!
