Notting Hill Carnival 2017

That time of the year has finally arrived and once you discover Notting Hill Carnival this weekend, if you haven’t just yet, we assure you you will be highly impressed: two days of Caribbean-influenced sounds, street parade with amazing floats, bright colored costumes, wide range of food and drinks, all this is the best way to greeting summer. Moreover, it takes place in one of the most famous districts of London, Notting Hill, which will be an awesome melting-pot of people and cultures this Bank Holiday weekend 26th – 28th August.

The first edition it was in 1966 organized by the big Afro-Caribbean community and maybe not everybody knew that it was the first organized event took place outside.

More than 1 million people join it every year, it represents one of the biggest street festivals in Europe. To not get lost in or stuck in the middle of this flood people, we recommend to find out the route map of floats, trucks and parade bands.

Sunday is more relaxed, and fitting for families with steel bands and kids parade whereas on Sunday there’s the main parade that involves many bands performing World Music rhythms, calypso and soca musicians and passionate dancer. Good times guaranteed thanks to more than 30 sound system and after party spread around Notting Hill if you can’t stop dancing, just be ready to be in overcrowded space so….leave your flip flops at home!
