York’s Chocolate Story

It’s no surprise the York Chocolate Story is number 1 on the list! I mean, who doesn’t like chocolate! not to mention it’s a proven aphrodisiac! Recently winning a gold for “Guided tour of the year” in the prestigious visit England awards, this chocolate tour is like no other. Taking you back through 3000 years of chocolate history, exploring an abundance of flavours and delights, your mouths will be watering like they have never before. Along with being a seductive, sensual journey for your taste buds, you will also have the opportunity to pick up a few tips and tricks on the way! Learn to taste chocolate like an expert, Explore the journey from cocoa bean to bar, and watch the professionals work their magic creating chocolate masterpieces, for you and your special someone to enjoy. For under thirteen squid each, this valentines date will not disappoint.

York Cat Trail

After all that chocolate and shameless PDA, what better way to shake it than a walk around beautiful York! The York cat trail dates back to the medieval era, with the cat statues being used to scare away plagues of mice but trust me it’s much more romantic now. A number of cat statues pepper the city, which can all be spotted on various building and landmarks along the trail, leading you through the beautiful, quirky streets of central York. This free activity will keep you and your partner’s eye’s peeled, smiles wide and adventurous spirits alive. Be sure to take your camera to capture not only the cats, but also those great candid moments #boyfriendsofinstagram.

Note: Make sure to buy your valentines some fresh roses along the trail at the Shambles markets!

Lover’s Leap

With your adventurous spirits well excited after the cat trail, keep those cameras out and head to Lover’s Leap, Brimham Rocks. Just a short commute from York, on the skirts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this incredible rock formation is popular amongst lovers for that perfect photo! Offering a number of trails to the rocks, ranging from easy, wheelchair/ pram accessible paths, to more strenuous, adventurous routes, the short stroll there is half the fun. hand in hand you will experience some of the best untouched land England has to offer. Once arriving at the formation, you can have a climb & a wonder, searching for the perfect place to get that photo and the sneaky kiss. Be sure to come prepared with suitable footwear and clothing, water and snacks. I personally suggest a picnic style pack, to make it a Valentine’s experience you will both never forget!

Whether it’s a full body massage, a facial or one of their many alternative treatments, I highly recommend this experience to loosen up the body and mind for both you and your special someone.
