London for Vegetarians

Posted March 24, 2017

A short while ago, London for vegetarians was a task. When I arrived in London I found sticking to a vegetarian diet rather difficult, however since then I’ve come across many great options and now I thoroughly enjoy being a veggie here. I’m writing to share some of my experiences and help others find tasty, healthy and affordable food here in London for everyone to enjoy.

There’s plenty of markets located all over the city some have stands that sell fresh fruit and veg, Shopping for my produce has been a lot more convenient way easier on the wallet than going to the local supermarket, buying from here is always better quality as well.

Its always an awesome day out at these markets and you can come home with bags full of goodies by the end. Some of my favorite here in London are the Camden Lock Market, which is located in Camden Town, a very alternative and musical suburb just north of the central city, which makes getting to and from very easy. Another is the Borough Market In Southwark. I prefer going here for some gourmet treats. It’s a bustling, huge undercover market with a mind blowing selection of stands to delight you. Enjoy fantastic juices made in front of your eyes, goat’s milk ice cream, wide ranges of authentic worldwide cuisines and so much more. After spending a couple of hours wandering, sipping a coffee from.

After spending a couple of hours wandering, sipping a coffee from Cafe Riva, I’m probably exhausted on the tube home with all my groceries a little something extra for the following week or two.

Another option if you aren’t feeling up to cooking is to dine out, this is always a tad more expensive but I know a few awesome places to have a meal whatever your budget might be.

There is a well known vegan restaurant located on Oxford Street called Vantra Vitao. It is renowned for its organic and raw dishes and also offers an amazing vegan buffet, which was one of my favourite meals since coming to London.

In Shoreditch there is fantastic restaurant Cook Daily, on Instagram I follow a vegan chef who has influenced the menu a lot there, he has some great signature dishes which include ‘Yoga Fire’ a spicy chickpea and sweet potato curry and ‘High Grade’ a stir fry of veggies with a homemade barbecue sauce and a hemp seed crumble. These are just two of my favourite places to eat when I feel like dining out although London has so much to offer  so jump on the tube or bus and check some options out.
