3 Supreme Burger Restaurants in London
For most travellers it is common when visiting a new city or country to sample the local cuisine. In fact many would argue this is key to the entire experience of travelling. However, for those who don’t find British food to their tastes or are just looking for their favourite comfort food London has a bountiful variety of food on offer. My personal vice is a good burger and I’d like to take a moment to share my favourites with you.
Named for their delicious meat patties and brioche buns, P&B excel at building supremely delicious, juicy burgers. Be warned though, they don’t take bookings and the line can get quite long around meal times. Thankfully they also do take away if you can’t handle the wait. With locations at James St in Soho and outside Liverpool St Station it’s a great place to stop for lunch whilst sight-seeing.
Named after the two products they sell, MeatLiquor delivers on both their burgers and their cocktails. Indulgence is the name of the game here. These burgers make no pretence of being healthy but by the time you finish with them you won’t care. Be warned there can often be a wait, especially later at night, but once inside you can quench your thirst on a cocktail. If you don’t like the look of the queue you can try your luck at MeatMarket in Covent Garden instead.
Acklam Village Market, at the top of Portobello Road, hosts an amazing variety of street food representative of cuisines from around the world. In and of itself it’s worth a visit, especially on Saturdays when Portobello Road market is in full swing. It is here that my favourite guilty pleasure can be found; the Cheeky Bacon burger from Cheeky Burger. Selling gourmet style burgers as street food, the guys at Cheeky Burger know what they’re doing.
