Frequently Asked Questions

Is linen included?
Yes, we don't want you to cart your sleeping bag all the way to London!  Linen, duvet and pillow is included.

I am checking out at 4am in the morning, will someone be there?
Yes, those cheap flights come at a cost, but we have a 24 hour reception, which means you can check-in or -out whenever you need to.

What is included with breakfast?
Our breakfasts are continental which means we offer bread and jams as well as several cereals, tea and coffee. Remember it's the most important meal of the day!

Do you have lockers?
All our hostels pride themselves on excellent security.  Not only do we have a free lock-up for valuables behind reception, a few of our hostels have lockers underneath the beds where you can store your luggage. Just remember to bring a padlock with you, but if you forget, we sell them at reception.

Is there somewhere to store my stuff when I arrive, before check-in time or when my plane leaves long after check-out?
Yes, we have a luggage room where you can leave your luggage and even though we cannot take responsiblity for your luggage we can look after your valuables behind reception, free of charge!

Do you accept Euro?
No, not yet.

Can we make food at your hostel?
Yes, all of our hostels are fitted with self-catering kitchens where you can cook to your heart's content.

Is the internet free of charge?
No, but we do offer plenty of terminals (making sure you have time to write to Mom) and an excellent and fast broadband service.

Do you have a lift or elevator?
Aaah, welcome to lovely, old London! No, we do not, but we do have charming, strong receptionists who will gladly help you with your luggage as well as a wonderful reward of a fabulous view once you get to the top!

Do you have laundry facilities?
Yes, all our hostels have a coin-operated washers and dryers.

Do I need to pay before I stay?
Yes, we ask you to pay before you check-in. You are more than welcome to inspect our rooms first which we are sure will satisfy your every need.

If I cancel my internet booking, can I have my deposit back?
The agency on the internet through which you have booked will take a 10% deposit which is non-refundable.  You can, however, book directly with us by email or phone and you'll not need to pay the deposit, which means you can move your booking around as you like.

Do you have weekly rates?
Yes we do, because London is too big for a mere weekend! Please ask at each hostel about their special weekly rates.

Can I have a discount?
We offer discounts with our Loyalty cards (make sure you get your's next time you stay with us), ISIC cards and VIP Backpackers' cards.  For other special offers please check our website regularly.

Do you have phones we can use?
There are public telephones in or around all the hostels. Make sure to ask for phone cards from reception which give you discounted rates.

Are towels provided?
Although they are not included in the price, we do have towels available for sale at each hostel reception, so don't worry if you forget yours.

Can I work for my bed?
All the staff at the hostels are backpackers like yourself. Once you've booked into the hostel, please come and chat to us to find out about possibly working. Please feel free to ask reception if there are any vacancies in the cleaning team or any talent or skill you can offer.

What types of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, all Pounds Sterling Travellers' Cheques, Maestro, Switch and debit cards.
We do not accept American Express.
