Terms & Conditions:

Bookings by Internet

  • When booking online you will be charged a 10% deposit. This is taken by the booking engine and not Astor Hostels and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Any questions or concerns regarding your deposit should be taken up with the relevant booking engine.
  • The balance owing is due in full, upon arrival.
  • Please make sure the details of your booking are correct as we cannot take responsibility for any mistakes made.
  • The 10% deposit is calculated on a per person per night basis. Changes to the number of people or nights could result in a loss of some or all of your deposit.

Bookings made directly with Astor

  • You will need a valid credit card to make your booking.
  • To secure your booking you may be asked to pay in full for the first night’s accommodation. This amount will only be refundable if you have given us notice 24 hours prior to 10am on the day of your arrival.
  • If you come to the hostel in person and do not have a valid credit card, you will be asked to pay in cash to secure your reservation for a future date.
  • As no credit facilities are available, all accommodation must be paid for in full on arrival.

Cancellations, No-Shows and Changes to your booking

Cancellations

  • All cancellations must be made in writing or by email directly with the hostel concerned. 
  • To avoid any charges by Astor, cancellation of your booking must be made 24 hours prior to 10am on the day of arrival.
  • If you do not show up for your booking or you have not given us sufficient notice of cancellation you will be charged in full for your first night’s accommodation. The rest of your booking will be cancelled.

Refunds

  • For refunds please contact the hostel concerned directly. Refunds will only be made if you paid in full for your first night’s accommodation and you have given us enough notice of cancellation (see above).
  • No refunds will be made on weekly rates.
  • No refunds can be made on the deposit taken by a booking engine.
  • Refunds will be made by the same method the payments were made and to the specific card used at the time of booking.

Making changes

  • If you want to make changes to the arrival date of your booking please contact the hostel concerned directly.
  • Booking changes are subject to availability.
  • Deposits paid will be not be lost if there is simply a change in the date of arrival.
  • Any changes made to the size of the room, the number of people or the number of nights are subject to a possible loss of some or all deposits paid.

Weekly Rates, Special Packages and Offers

  • Weekly Rates are 100% non-refundable and non-transferable. Please ensure you wish to stay for the full 7 days before booking.
  • To secure your booking of weekly rates, special packages and offers, you will need to pay for the first night. This will be equal to the regular price for one night’s accommodation in a like-sized room.

Group bookings

  • Groups consist of 12 people or more.
  • All groups must pay for the first night’s accommodation in full when booking.
  • The balance is due 21 working days before arrival.
  • For cancellation of a group booking we will need a notice period of 21 working days before the arrival date.
  • For special prices and offers please contact the individual hostels directly.

Pricing & Payment Policy

  • We make every effort to accommodate you in the dormitory size of your choice, however because of the nature of our business, this may not be possible. If the accommodation that you have been changed to is smaller that which you requested, you will not be charged for the difference in price. If we have moved you to a larger dormitory room, your booking will reflect the price of this room. This does not apply to changes made at your request.
  • We do not accept cheques, except in the case of group bookings.
  • We do accept most credit and debit cards, but not American Express or Diners Club.
  • You may be asked to fax us additional information to authorise your card.
  • We cannot take Solo or Electron Cards via telephone, fax or email. They can only be used with the cardholder present.
  • We accept Travellers’ Cheques, provided that they are in Pound Sterling.
  • We do not accept Euros, US Dollars or any currency other than Pound Sterling.
